Loving Jesus, Living His Word, Leading the world to worship Him

Lonestar 5 Pillars

Supremacy of Scripture:We believe that the Bible is the inerrant and infallible living Word of God. It contains the words of life, the very words of God. It is living, powerful, and able to transform lives through interaction with it. Its depths have never been reached. Its mysteries have never been solved. It is new and fresh every morning, bringing life to all who engage with it. We believe that every disciple of Jesus Christ should be committed to daily practice of reading and meditating on the precepts and teachings of this Holy Spirit-breathed Book. (2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12, et al)

Worship: We believe worship is much more than music before the sermon. Worship is a lifestyle where everything we do is to glorify Jesus Christ. Worship takes place in the heart as it is directed towards God in humility, adoration, and reverence. We sing passionately to Him as we honor and praise Him with our thoughts and emotions. We live contagiously for Him, directing even the smallest parts of our lives towards His majesty. We are in perpetual gratitude for all He has done. And in all this, as Scripture teaches, God inhabits the very praises of His people. (Psalms 22:3; Psalm 86:12; Matthew 5:16; Mk 12:30-31, Hebrews 2:12, et al)

Prayer: Prayer is communication with the Lord. It is where we express our thoughts, joys, concerns, petitions, and pleadings to God. Prayer is also listening because it is dialogue with God. He talks with us by His Spirit, according to the truth of His Word. It is that place of daily communion and interaction where Christ desires to personally meet us. It is the powerful vehicle by which our heavenly Father moves mountains, heals the sick, comforts the weary, and restores the soul. It is essential to the Christian walk. (Romans 12:12; Ephesians 6:18; Philippians 4:6, et al)

Transformation: Transformation is the process of maturing both inwardly and outwardly in Jesus Christ. It is the act of rejecting our old nature and embracing who we have become through faith in Him . Christians who have experienced genuine conversion will naturally become more transformed into the likeness of Christ over the course of their lives. This is evidenced in their ever-increasing love for God, His word, and others. Our speech and actions should reflect this heart change as well. Even our very thoughts should display evidence of transformation, whereby we think more and more as Christ would think. The more we spend time with Him, the more we take on His characteristics. We realize not everyone is at the same place in their journey of transformation, therefore we strive for a strong emphasis on grace---accepting people where they are, loving them for who they are as God sees them, and knowing that God is perfecting His work in them, as He is in all of us. (Matthew 13: 23; Romans 12:1-4; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Philippians 1:6, et al)

Family: We believe in the Biblical model of discipleship for families, with the responsibility to disciple one's children falling on the shoulders of the parents. We also affirm the parental order of God's  design. We believe that the father is head of the household and ultimately responsible for the spiritual well-being of his family. Thus, we encourage, exhort, and equip our fathers to fulfill their role in this crucial task.At the same time we applaud the mother's role as a Proverbs 31 woman of God handling duties of wife, mother, and instructor in matters regarding the education of the children. However,We also realize that in our culture the reality of a two-parent household may not be a choice for many. In those instances, we equip, love, and walk alongside the single parent in their quest to provide spiritual leadership for their children and self.
